Our 10-year anniversary
Transitional Pain Service Knowledge Exchange
The Transitional Pain Service (TPS) team at the Toronto General Hospital hosted a 1-day conference celebrating 10 years of our world-first multidisciplinary program focused on reducing pain and disability post-surgery and preventing persistent opioid use. The event took place on April 22, 2024 at MaRS Centre Auditorium in Toronto.
The conference brought together clinicians, scientists, patients, and policy makers with shared interests in chronic pain treatment and research.
The TPS team showcased the results of our Health Canada Substance Use and Addictions Program Grant with a focus on our leading innovations in post-surgical care, chronic pain management, and opioid stewardship.
Watch recordings from the conference, including presentations on:
-
emerging evidence and future directions for the Transitional Pain Service
-
TPS integration with and expansion across Canadian healthcare systems
-
new co-created, culturally relevant education materials on chronic pain, mental health, and opioid use for First Nations communities via partnerships with the Centre for Wise Practices in Indigenous Health at Women’s College Hospital and members from the Grand Council Treaty #3 communities.
-
a panel on the future of chronic pain and tangible solutions to the Opioid Crisis in Canada.
We thank our partners for supporting our initiatives and joining us in our anniversary celebration.
